Vrs spongy clutch

Featured Replies

Hi all, new to this forum and the Vrs.  I have a mkll 2013 with 80k miles and clutch pedal has gone spongy, with a lot of free play and drive takes up very close to the floor.  From reading on here I think it's the slave/ hydraulic release bearing.  Now,  should I change the complete DMF while box is out. It's a 2.0 CR.  Is there a solid kit available for these or fit a new DMF.  Thanks

The 2.0 CR can't be converted to SMF, and yes while the box is out it's a good idea to replace the DMF as it will probably be very worn.

Thanks for your reply.  Anyone have a ballpark figure for the complete kit?

Just an update on this, it was the hydraulic release bearing, so a complete clutch kit/dmf was fitted in Nov 2017.
