Octavia vRS provisional build weeks etc

Featured Replies

Hi all,

So I ordered an Octavia vRS 245 last week and the factory accepted the order this Tuesday (24th Oct) and unbelievably I already have a provisional build week, great stuff.

However, its build week 21 of next year which is the last week of May! Thats over a 30 week build time, plus delivery etc so more like a late June delivery. I have spoken to Skoda and the dealership themselves who dont really have much to say other than it should come forward...

Ive seen a fair few people who have ordered 245's and 230's over the last couple of weeks and they are all being told of an early 2018 delivery.

Just wondering what other peoples provisional build weeks are? If it helps I have ordered a DSG 245 in red with no options.

I hate to sound like the dealer but it's true. I should come forwards.  They have put the order into the factory and from here on it is out of their hands. If you want a car sooner you will have to compromise on spec/colour and pick one in UK stock.

Id happily take UK stock but I figured that its a basic as a 245 can get so theres nothing to compromise on

From experience, dealers will very rarely order top of their respective chain cars with zero options. Most owners will want a thing or two. Just pick one of those, should be a few about if you are going through a dealer and not a lease company.

Interesting conversation with our dealer yesterday they had tried to get an unallocated car for us, but by the time paperwork completed it had gone, this was around a month ago and only two unallocated cars in uk, a meteor grey estate or red hatch, the red one was quite well specced, DCC, Canton or heated screen.

We've been lucky dealer had car on order for stock, and has changed this to the spec we wanted, so we now have a build week of 45. Sales Manager said they had be caught out by the popularity of the 245, and has now ordered a couple more for stock.

Just had a phone call from the dealer saying they expect it to move forward to Early Jan and possibly even December...Lets see

I ordered my 245 Estate, with 9 or 10 extras on 28th Sept, and was told on Wednesday that this would be build week 46 with delivery 4 - 6 weeks after that.

It sounds like there are a fair few 245's in production with estimated delivery around Christmas so perhaps they will all come over together.

Yes, I ordered mine about a month later than you so I would expect mine to be early jan all being well due to xmas factory shut down etc.

6 week delivery seems a long time? Maybe thats due to the factory shut down or do they all just sit around waiting for a boat to the UK?

I ordered mine last week of September and been told by the dealer when the order was placed that it is expected in week 2 which would make it 15 weeks!

fingers crossed the will reduce a bit although think I would rather wait & have a 2018 registered car than a late 17.

The current build time for a 245 is 17 weeks according to my dealer

Asked the dealer about this when he called just. He said as of now there are no 245's available in the UK dealer network. They have ordered 2 for themselves as apparently they are more popular than they first thought

Well I ordered my 245 DSG Hatch on the 11th September.

I spoke to skoda today directly on live chat and my car is currently showing an unconfirmed build date of week 12 2018!

Better come forward, a LOT :(

Did you spec it out? My dealer is pretty sure  mine will move forward a fair bit. He said the system updates every monday

Yeah, it's fully loaded to be fair, not sure if that has a negative effect on built time?

Ive read that some models can take longer to build if they have certain options etc. Mines a basic 245 dsg with no options
