Removable LED Boot Light

Featured Replies

I find it near on impossible to remove this, finding it requires a great deal of force.

I would imagine it should be much easier to remove.

What have others found?

TIA,

K

Mine is very simple to remove.

Is your boot moulding secured correctly so that it is not putting strain on the fitting? Just a thought.

Mine just pops out, but...

The same lamp fitted in the boot of my S.II got pushed in slightly when I loaded four wheels into the boot and after that it became a real pig to remove it.

In that instance repair involved replacing the entire side panel that the lamp mount is fitted into. Fortunately the dealer did it under warranty. I noticed the panel in the S.III is much smaller so may not be such a drama if that turns out to be the case.

We learn by our mistakes and now if I have a large load I remove the lamp from the mount.

If I touch it slightly the light will go out, so it seems even tiny movements affect it. The housing seems OK, but on the base of the torch at either side fo the metal connections, there seems to be a deeper hole than the other side. I wonder if it is that that is holding it too tightly, or whether they all look like that....

Only 2 weeks old, so back to the dealer I suspect!

Mine was really difficult to remove at first but after deliberately taking it out and putting it back in a few times it loosened up quickly and is fine now.

(That was not written with the intention of it soundy smutty, I promise....)

That's useful to know. My torch puts up a bit of resistance, when trying to remove it, as well, so I will remove more regularly now.
