What's this button for?

I have 2 superb IIs

One pre facelift, one post facelift

The FL has something the other does not have:

When I press Auto (temp control), there is a second press that does...well I don't know what it does. But unlike the prefacelift it has 3 positions, off, 1 and 2

What's it do?

You mean the 2 LEDs that come on the button. I have that too.

know what it does?

Two different control modes. IIRC one uses more heating/cooling and less fan, and the other uses more fan with less heating/cooling.

@S00perb - you'll probably find it's covered in the owners manual ;)

There are two modes for auto, the difference is the fan/blower speed.

Normal mode is "high" (right LED), if it's too noisy you can use "low" (left LED) to make things quieter. The manual also warns that "low" may not be effective if the vehicle is fully occupied.

I think Skoda also calls that "eco" mode. I have found that it is good enough with 2 in the car but just as you say, a full car need the right hand setting.

Obviously no such button on mine (manual aircon) but could do with it. When in slow/stationary traffic the fan is the loudest noise in the car - need a fan speed lower than 1

You say your pre-FL doesn't have the same feature?

If we're talking about the same thing, my pre-FL does have it.

There are two LED's in the 'Auto' button signalling the two speeds...
