fan speed in auto mode, climatronic unit

Featured Replies

Hi, When I switch the climatronic to auto I have no control over the fan speed, probably for good reasons.  I saw a video online (Youtube I think) which suggested there was a way of taking manual control. I didn't explain how though. I suspect it needed reprogramming of the VCDS or something?   Anybody met this ??

It does look in the "Tried and tested" thread near the top of this page. It's easy with VCDS.

If I rotate the centre knob, iirc, the fan speed can be increased and a series of lights appear around its periphery to represent the chosen fan speed. However this switches off the automatic mode of the climatronic. If you want a higher fan speed in the automatic mode then press the bit of the centre knob iirc that says MENU. A touch screen of the car interior then appears. There are then 3 modes on top rhs for auto fan speed showing a feather, a small fan and a larger fan. Select the one you want. They all seem to be efficient/quiet enough for me and the only time I really hear fan noise is when I press the maximim demist button .

What you are thinking of is the ability to see what fan speed is being used when in Auto mode. The VCDS tweak enables the lights around the fan speed dial when in Auto.

So simple: I didn't know that.

Snap. Goes to show that it's worth RTFM... (pg 109 of the FL O3 manual if anyone is interested!)
