Worthwhile searching the site to find other threads @savman - there are a few more too. As you see per the thread, I highly recommend Scorpion!

so powerflow not rated

Id swerve powerflow. I had one on a V6 and it was nothing but trouble. Personally id go with milltek or some one like turbo thomas

Has anyone actually run the miltek system with no boxes? I’m really tempted but don’t want it to be too loud, a little more noise would be good but it’s a lot of wedge to spend to find it’s annoying

You’re never really going to get a good noise from a diesel. I’ve heard a couple of BMW / Audi 6cyl diesels with exhausts on and they don’t sound too bad, but still not what I’d consider a good sound!

Avoid powerflow like the plague - a good custom exhaust company will CNC mandrel bend the pipes and you will get the same diameter throughout the exhaust, however powerflow crush bend their pipes so they narrow on the bends - not what you want at all!

Think looking at at his first post he has a diesel

@Tim1631 - Good spot, thanks for pointing that out. My mistake - must've been an 'eager beaver' / blind day for me ;)

european products always seem to be double what its worth, i dont even think its SS, unless its ceramic coated.

I bit the bullet and got the un-silenced Miltek system, and even with no silencers it isn't really any louder than the stock exhaust, It is a little deeper and marginally louder in the car when pressing on but when cruising on the motorway it isn't really any louder, at idle it is a little "gushy" but only if you are stood behind the car. I ordered 2 new outlets, as it was just as cheap to order both exits from here - http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/skoda/oem-5e0253681d-5e0253682e-skoda-octavia-3/ as it was to just order one in the UK from TPS! The OE hanger needed was from TPS for £14 or so.

I looked at that but it was slightly more expensive and the odd tail pipes in the bumper side to side would have annoyed my OCD, plus I wanted a touch more noise under load, so no silencers was the order of the day. The arse dyno says response is a touch better, but I haven’t actually done any official tests and the DPF bucket will still be giving most of the back pressure and killing the noise along with the turbo.

the tail pipes are designed to fit in the original chrome fake exits so you don't need to replace them, i''m definitely going for this one as its complete other than the heat shield and not too noisy.

can you post some pics of yours? and what was the price? i thought the fox was the cheapest by far?

The tail pipes are different each side on the diesel, one has a cone on it the other doesn’t, I will try and get a photo of the ones I took off tomorrow, and of mine as it is now. I have the same both sides as I replaced both exits with the petrol ones that have a round tube in the middle. I am OCD and having odd exits would have done my head in!

the Milltek system is about £500 if you shop around on eBay and Roadrunner Motorsport (where I got mine from) then £14 for the hanger and £98 or so for both tail pipes delivered. You don’t need the heat shield etc as the is only a pipe and it is no where near anything, where as the Fox system has 2 big silencers so you will need the heat shield.

Also on the Fox it is unequal length pipes, again this would annoy me as the passenger side will be dormant, purely by physics unless the passenger silencer is more restrictive to force more gas through the drivers side.

it is little things but they matter to me, as did knowing it would fit well (3rd milltek system I have had) and knowing the head office is 30 mins down the road from me so should something be wrong it can be sorted quickly and easily.

yes, i know about the cone on the 'live' side but it's nothing  a 2mm cutting disc wouldn't take care of if you're super ocd and unless your going to get down on your knees its unnoticeable. il'l be painting mine anyway. Milltek with the extra expense of buying two new outlets (£100) its going to be about its exactly the same price.

As long as the back pressure is the same from both mufflers (which it is, as I've asked about that) it doesn't matter what length the pipe is as the resistance is the same for gases travelling in either direction, left or right, so the passenger side is definitely not dormant.

i actually like the Fox system as the two mufflers make it look more symmetrical i don't like the idea of the no muffler. DPF or not its going to sound rough in comparison with just plain pipes for the Milltek, blasting around town no problem but long motorway journeys (which most of my commute is) I couldn't stick the noise tbf and im not going to be blasting it round a track anytime so the performance increase for straight pipes (if any) would be pointless.

i really don't like the position of the Milltek coupler either, it sits below the multi-link, unlike the fox which is above and out of the way, more closer to stock. I'm lowered already and i guarantee with the speed bumps around me i'd have it ripped of in no time

it is a bonus living close to them so you're lucky in that respect.

some pics to compare...

Remus cat-back with remote controlled sound electronic flap upgrade on mine, when I had my exhaust fitted I was looking at Milltek at the time but have seen a few Milltek's with rust issue's? don't know if that is still the same today (hopefully not) hence why I went for the Remus, have seen no rust issue's from the Scorpion or Remus exhausts.

How much was this fitted please?

I had my Remus supplied & fitted by (Unit18) http://www.unit18.co.uk/ for supplying & fitting the Remus sports label exhaust with racing pipe & remote sound controller, I rang around a few other garage suppliers/fitters but the price being quoted was between £400-£700 more than Unit18, in-terms of price it cost a pretty packet but not what is shown on the Remus website, best thing is to call around a few garages & get a few quotes but I would recommend Unit18, ask for Alister & explain to him that they fitted a Remus system to a race blue Skoda vRS estate 2.0 TSI & you would like a price for the same setup etc...Alister is a great bloke & very trustworthy so you can trust him & his staff with your vehicle.

Rtec design https://www.rtecshop.com/ actually gave me a good quote, the same or there-about as Unit18 but Rtec didn't quote with the racing pipe as they would of probably used the system with the front silencer pipe instead which is with homologation.

My setup is the Remus racing sports cat-back without homologation, with racing down pipe/tube & remote sound controller.
