how do i tell what engines were not implicated in the cheat scandal?

 

 

I've got a 63 plate (post FL) 2.0 litre Superb 4x4 with the L&K pack since it was about a year old - it's brilliant: best car I've had (and that includes premium brands). 

 

To answer your question - all 2.0 litre and I think most of the 1.6 litre diesels from around this time were affected by the scandal.  2.0s require a software update; I think the 1.6s required something more.  It's easy for a Skoda dealer to tell if they've been done or not.  I requested that mine was not changed and therefore it's the same as it was before.

+1 for Shark  - they can even roll-back the latest version of the 'fix' that locks the ECU, which reports say a lot of other remappers are unable to do, (mine's not had the 'fix' but was just remapped last week at Shark ).
