The problem persists. The car isn't using any oil so I'm actually thinking it's diesel and an injector failure. Going to get it looked at asap. Just need it diagnosing.

Also got 2 new tyres due to be fitted next week as the rears are toast!

4 chips in the windscreen also means a new one of those coming up with the MOT due in November.

Yay!

So a quick update...

-New Uniroyal rainsport 3s fitted to the rear. Handles much better in the weather now!

-New windscreen

-MOT pass after having new front disks and pads. Kwik-Fit reversed my car into stacks of tyres during the MOT and subsequent retest and have damaged the bumper. It's been back to them and they have said that although there are tyre marks they couldn't have possibly done the damage that is in the bumper. I am confident that the marks weren't there when I left it with them but equally I agree that tyres probably wouldn't have caused the dings in the bumper. They aren't interested anyway. Oh well!

Had the brakes done by formula 1 autocentres who were really professional and at a great price!

The paintwork is wrecked so I don't spend too long on it. I'm seriously thinking about getting it wrapped to cover the laquer peel and pants paintwork..but can't decide on a colour!

Needs to be wrapped in a Matt Colour, Deep Red Matt looks epic

I think I agree. I don't want it to look "gangsta" but do want it to be different.

I should just stop having cars.

Started the Jaguar in Friday and got a "Charging System Fault" so naturally, ignored it. Moved the car around on the drive and left it. Roll on to tonight, switched it on to go and get a bit of diesel ready for the journey to the garage in the morning and had every error in the world. ABS, Suspension, Traction, Gearbox...everything.

Got to the petrol station, realised I was on the wrong side of the pump, went to restart and nothing. Had to call the RAC who found a loose battery connection. Got me home with a jump pack permanantly connected and then it died again. Now got to get it recovered in the morning to the specialist to be fixed properly along with the original fault. Grrrrr

JAGUAR the new L.O.T.U.S.:D

Looks like it hasn't been changed in 60,000 miles!:tongueout:

Broken again I think. Smoke coming from under the bonnet and a strong smell occasionally. I suspect an injector leak or an oil leak. Or both.

Why oh why did I think buying a Jaguar was a good idea!!

Buy a nice pair of leather driving gloves to PUSH it.

Any updates Chris?

Just been driving it. The paintwork is pretty bad. Looks like the rear passenger side has been painted in the past..badly. Lots is laquer peel on the bonnet too. Other than that, the rear drivers side door handle is intermittently not opening the door. Has has new tyres and brakes and took us to Holland on holiday. I love driving it. Needs some love but dread it going anywhere and what they will find!

I've really neglected the Jag over the last few months. I've been suffering with depression, lost my job and lost my way I guess. Cars have always made me happy but I have had no feeling for anything.

This week has been a bit of a turning point though, found a new job that I start in January, the S-Max project is on its way to being back and I took a look at the Jag this morning after the school run and she looks sad. Passed her MOT and had a coolant leak fixed as well as new brake discs and pads. Needs a clean so that's my next job. 20191204_084706.thumb.jpg.9ea36e77a0a7450d66aedd300eaff0e3.jpg

Hi Chris,

Glad to see you still have the Jaaaaaaag

1 step at a time, on the road to recovery, small achievable tasks will help improve your mood.  I know how you feel, the 1 thing that has always given me relaxation & helped to keep my depression under control is cycling, sadly I've barely done any over the last 18 months, no motivation, no enjoyment, no point!

If you ever fancy a chat or PM feel free to get in touch, I'm not trained in depression, just what I have learnt about myself through various self help sessions I've attended.  I'm always willing to listen 👍

Bloody car! 15761407069472732487756066633398.thumb.jpg.6256378d7c3022111805868095aeed18.jpg

So the Jaguar will hopefully be returning to the Finance company in the next month or so. Got to repair a few bits of paint and the alloys before it does and they charge me a small fortune. That will just leave me with the S-Max to focus on.

It's been a lovely car. Just too expensive to maintain with the new job

Another week and another fault. Complete failure of the ABS, traction control, adaptive dynamics, cruise control.

Guessing it's a sensor.

I'll bet you'll be glad to see the back of that when it finally goes Chris.

The Jaguar finally left my ownership last week after sitting on the drive since March 2020. Was quite sick so went to a specialist to make it good..another £600 odd! Then got sold to WBAC for convenience. Established that it had previous damage repaired that I'd not noticed but when your looking for that kinda thing it was quite noticable. The fact Evans Halshaw sold me it with the damage too is another reason I'll never use them again!

A sad ending, but at least it's out of the way!

And better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all :D
