Car ordered

Featured Replies

Just back from dealers, the Mrs now has an Edition 1.5Tsi DSG  in black on it's way, no optional extras other than a space saver wheel, so well equipped didn't think it needed anything else, way better spec than my Golf R.

One very happy wife.

Now just bracing myself for the raised eyebrows when we tell people.....

Nice choice, though what about headed front windscreen as the edition is the only variant that can have it.

Really, I was going to have that as an option on an S EL. That's annoying and makes no sense.

I would have likely had an Edition but don't want a panoramic sunroof.

Yes, thought about it when we got home funnily enough so calling dealers to add it on.

My wife is quite short so she'd struggle to reach the centre of the screen so it makes sense to add it.

My Yeti has the heated front screen, the first time I've had this on a car. I would find it difficult to order another car without one. They are very good, not just when it's frosty but for clearing that light mist/condensation that can settle on the inside of the screen.

I have had a heated windscreen for a number of years and would always order it.

I'm sure that manufacturers are making it more and more difficult to spec. up the car the way you want.

Not having the heated front screen across the range is plain crazy.

According to the latest prices and spec brochure, Jan 2018, I read it that you can have the heated screen on any vehicle [except the 1.0 TSI 115 PS], but you would have to spec up the SE with heated seats to have this option. Look at pages 6 & 7.

I have just tried the configurater and yes you are right but that was not the case until recently, strange but good.

The above was using the 1.5 engine. Tried again using the 1.0 engine and it was not available, now very strange.

Heated screen added to spec and car has been given build week 8 so the countdown begins.....

We just ordered an almost identical car + heated screen and Canton.  Build week 10.

Excellent, countdown begins.......

We've since added door scuff protection to ours and I'm having the rear glass tinted as the factory privacy glass isn't dark enough, this will be done at the dealers prior to collection.

Even though it's not my car I'm looking forward to getting my hands on it!

When do find out your build date? I ordered mine a week yesterday and havent heard anything since

We found out two days after we ordered. Brother in law runs a Skoda dealership so he emailed us a copy of the order sheet which shows the build week etc.

Give your dealer a call, he should be able to advise you when your provisional build date is.

Cheers.

Seems like people are getting quite quick delivery dates then.

I was told late March or early April.

I’ll call the dealer next week and see if he knows yet.

There'll be a delivery time to the showroom don't forget, which I was told is around 4 weeks. I have a build week of 8 for my Edition but was still told it would be end of March earliest to collect.  2 months from now doesn't seem long but I bet its going to draaaag. Roll on March.

We ordered mid November (in Ireland), got a week one build and was informed it had landed in Dublin on Friday, picking it up next Saturday.

Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

Ah ok. He did say something about it taking a few weeks going from the factory to Germany and then onto the UK.

While we’re waiting, has anyone used the Karoq AR app? Its bloody brilliant, you can look all around the inside of the car close up.

Did you get it from Pulmans garage, if so, did you test drive when they had the launch weekend and which models did you drive, also your thoughts on the models you tested,

Yes we did, my brother inlaw works there. We test drove a manual 1.5 sel which was impressive.

Saying that we were always going for the Edition anyway and specifically a DSG as my wife loves it on my Golf R, also Pulman supply no surprise....

Anyway, It's our first Skoda and I'm highly impressed with the overall package the Karoq offers. Interior is streets ahead of my Golf, really looking forward to delivery.

For anyone interested in lead times, we ordered our Edition on the 28th December and have been told the build is provisionally scheduled for week 7 (starting 12th Feb), so hopefully mid-March for delivery.

we ordered a 1.5TSI Edition on January 8th and have been given a provisional week 8 build slot

I have one on order now too.  B)
