Anyone here with the side bars fitted? I'm curious as to how they are attached.

This aftermarket kit looks horrendous, they've removed the Skoda access panel that covers the mounting points but then had to cut away huge chunks of the main plastic undertray with what I assume was a butter knife :o

Don't open this fitting guide if you are of a nervous disposition, the high-res images are enough to turn the stomach!

Look at all the exposed non-painted brackets, off-the-shelf nuts and bolts (are they even galvanised or stainless?). Give them a couple of salted winters and they'll be completely corroded.

Hopefully this is the reason the genuine Skoda bars are so expensive, they're better tailored to fit the Kodiaq?

That is such an awful construction. Can’t belive that a company can sell that. Looks like a beta setup before you make the final product.

Didn’t see anyone post the instructions up - I gave bought a set of the Skoda running boards and will be fitting them myself, I managed to get a copy of the instructions off of a dealership. Hope this

  • I fitted running boards to mine yesterday (I did buy the genuine ones from superskoda  but they don't include the rubber seal that goes along the top of the boards between the body and boards, £15.00

I know I'm digging up a really old thread here (and apologies for that)... but I'm pondering the same question now.

So, what do you all think... running boards on a vRS - yes or no? From a practical point of view, I don't put much stuff on the roof (and I will have a tow bar for a rear bike rack this time around, so roof loads should be pretty much nil). From an aesthetic point of view... my concern is that it will just end up looking like a BMW or Mercedes SUV, as they all seem to have running boards. I may be in the minority, but for me that wouldn't be a good thing!

Despite that all pointing to a resounding 'no' and 'why are you even asking!?' - I still quite like the idea... I'm just not sure why 🤔.

Imo a Kodiaq is a large Estate car, not a 4x4 so it's a no from me!

Each to their own though.

The OEM boards are understated and classy looking, imho. The aftermarket boards I've seen are much more likely to give you that 'Mercedes look'.

Other than for roof-access, the other main advantage running boards provide (in my experience at least) has been allowing kids to get in and out much easier. They definitely don't help with adult access to the car - in fact they can get in the way a bit. Depending on your height I suppose.

Just got a rough quote from my garage 1600 euro. Anyone fine decent ones at a reasonable price. Facelift 2022 sportline

That seems a little steep (~£1335)... think they're only £900 to supply, so £400+ to fit is a bit of a joke.

Definitely a BUY BUY BUY!!

It finishes of the VRS aesthetics really well  especially when standing on the rear quarter. Looking at the chrome from the rear pipes, then look at the chrome down the side of the side steps, it finishes it off perfectly, like it’s meant to be.

I specifically got it for my roof box and camping but yes, you wont regret it and they are quite discrete with the doors closed.

Amazingly I actually got a £27 rebate from the Insurance too!!! 😂

That's 'cos they stick out and protect the doors... a bit at least, so in theory reduces the risk of expensive body repairs. Or something like that anyway.

I'm quite happy without, but you're right, does look nice!

I bought mine for looks…. No one’s allowed to scuff them or put their feet on them though! 😯😅

£707 for the parts here. Fit them yourself, or I'm sure you can find someone else to do it for less than 6 hundred quid!

Are you in Ireland by any chance? I bought mine from a dealer in Kerry for about 600 euro a couple of years ago (parts only).

Ye Ireland. Car should be here in the next week or so. Told garage I'd leave it way to steep. There handy for the kids but not at that price. To be fair he wasn't pushing them. Also towbar a grand he also said unless I really need one don't bother. Like when they don't upsell

I can get them for 800 euro delivered. Is there much to fitting them. As said above garage wants 1600 fitted. I'm handy enough
