VCDS/ OBDeleven & warranty

Featured Replies

Looking for advice - I have a 2017 VRS and have made a few tweaks using OBDeleven (disabled stop/start etc), could someone please tell me whether I need to wipe all of the changes prior to taking the car in for a service?

Thanks

You don’t.

Nope. You won't have any warranty issues unless something you have changed directly causes an issue

I told dealer I had S/S disabled, as I didn't want a bill for two hours labour from them trying to find the fault :D

Anybody had problems with warranty after using obdeleven?

My car is on a PCP. What would happen if I returned the car at the end of the deal with OBD 11 changes?

They'll just reset them as and when they find them, as long as they don't cause any issues or damage then there should be no problem.

I'm going to be saving up for vcds (I think) and I will be doing a complete scan of the car, save the settings as a backup and then be looking here for the tweaks that I would like to do and my car will be on a PCP.

I would think that 95% of sales persons don't even know what the car comes with when new  so I wouldn't worry   :shake:

Unless you make some really bizarre changes (like flashing DRLs or some weird tail light configuration) then I doubt anyone will notice.

Thanks for the advice.

Gave the dealer a list of the changes when I traded my last one in just in case a future owner would find them appealing!
