Few newbie questions

Featured Replies

Just picked up a 63 plate Estate yesterday, and need a few parts, if anyone can help with the OE part numbers and or descriptions:

1. Front driver side door handle, the bit that covers the lock. Car is Race Blue I believe, so I assume I can buy the part from Skoda and paint it with a rattle can?

2. Tailgate pull close handle/strap thingy

Cheers in advance for any replies.

This is a great site that I've used numerous times before for finding VAG part numbers.

That's odd, I've never had an issue with the site before. I don't use Symantec, but do use Mcafee and never had anything flag.

Could be something that's just gone on.  It would be interesting if you try it again and see if you get a warning.  If you don't, does that mean Norton is wrong (false positive) or McAfee isn't detecting it?

Just tried again and nothing flagged - wondering if it's the adverts that's the issue. There's a few dodgy looking ones one there and one did pop up  but shouldn't be an issue unless you click on one.

I use Ublock Origin so usually avoid the ads and popups.  According to Norton there were two attacks, Coinminer 6 and 8.  Some info from Norton on these below:

I would say it's probably best to avoid oemepc then for anyone reading this topic! As you say it's possible other AV products do not pick this up as it doesn't infect the computer per se like a traditional Virus/Trojan. Turning off JavaScript will probably stop it though that will likely also cause issues with stuff not displaying on other websites etc.

This sort of thing is so annoying though, isn't it?  This is exactly the sort of resource that people need so that must make it a target for the malware operators.  I guess that the admin of that domain needs to give their website a thorough scan and remove the code that has been injected.

Cheers, Peter.
