Front tyre ware on inside edges

Featured Replies

Hi Just had the car MOTed and it was advised the front tyres are wearing on the inside edge.

I did 20 odd years working as a mechanic at a Vauxhall dealer so my first thought would be tracking  or .......

does this model scrub the tyres in normal use ? I have come across this in the past but iv not been in the motor trade for 15 years now so not in the know any more

It has 205/55x16 goodyears

its not bad just about 25mm wearing if it was one i would have said a fault in the tyre

Thanks

Tyres might be from same batch. I've seen peculiar outer edge wear on a pair of Goodyears once but the different brand currently fitted seem ok.

I think there are 2 threads on this issue that suggest that the camber angle is wrong.  Found one of them:-

Why would you MOT a car that will be less than 3 years old?

"Does not compute" as the Dalek said, climbing off the dustbin.

I'm guessing it's a Mk.II Superb and the OP has inadvertently posted in the wrong forum.

Late 2014 / Early 2015 says Superb Mk.II (Mk.III launched Sept 2015 in UK)

205/55R16 says Superb Mk.II as it was the size fitted to the Mk.II 16" (Mk.III 16" wheel was fitted with 215/60R16)

Shouldn't have if its a Mk3. 16" tyre size is 215 60 16, but the temp spare is 205 55 16.

Have you fitted the spare wheel?

Judging by Steve's other posts, he has a Mk.II 2012 1.6 d Greenline Superb est.  Easy mistake to make.
