Which alternator?

Featured Replies

I think my alternator is goosed, not putting out any charge at low revs/idle, bearing type noise coming from alternator area (has done this for last couple of years however), battery light flashing.  Checked brushes which are ok.  Typing my reg in to euro car parts it fetches 4 options for Fabia 1.4 MPI 2003.  Car does have Aircon, any ideas which one I need??

Cheers

@Kiyonari - The part number should be on the alternator body.

Thanks I'll have a look!  Though it's making a mockery of me it's been fine today, albeit on a motorway run... Missus is a community nurse so when stop start driving all day, always less than 0.5miles, battery light flashes like mad..

@Kiyonari - Ok, based on that I suggest going to an auto electrician, and asking them to diagnose. It may be that a new, good battery (Bosch, Varta or Yuasa) is what's required, and they'll probably do the diagnostics on the understanding that they get the business for replacement.
