Rear hatch window jet washer question

Featured Replies

First hatchback (estate) model for me.

A previously-owned 2014 Skoda Superb.

The rear window jet washer shoots a single stream onto the glass, as opposed to the front windshield which sees a well-dispersed mist across the entire glass. The front window is cleaned easily, while the rear window needs a lot of fluid, does not clean as well, and might work better if it had a wider spray area.

Back window often needs a lot of cleaning during a long drive in the winter moths.

Is this particular to my car or common?

I have the same - single stream - I think it's normal.

Like Jafo said - it's normal for the single stream and its normal to have to use it allot in some winter conditions.

My rear mudflaps reduced the amount of dirt that  gets onto the window....

In my 5 series days, a buddy tried to fit a "spray" pattern head to his rear window washer. He had to get rid of it - the airflow at the back of the estate caused the fluid to be blown away before it got to the glass.

Exactly this a spray pattern would not reach the screen

Also +1 for mudguards for the estate:cool:
