I did read that the cam belt on the TSI engines are long life. ( made by Conti? )

My last car had a cam belt change listed at 140,000 miles or ten years on a diesel. ( Not VAG )

Changed the belt at 90,000 miles and eight years old, but didn't change the water pump.

Sold the car at 131,000 miles and 13 years old and still running with the original water pump.

Still going two years later. Water pump in this engine was not known to wear out though.

Thanks AG Falco
