Delivery times

@Neilsam55,   did Motability confirm that about the glitch in the System and the VED?

Very odd, the car is sitting First Registered is it not, VED is a Group one, you are exempt from VED but it is not your Exemption Certificate used it is the Group one.

There are times Motability have issues when the Dealer Logs in and you are to put in the PIN from your agreement for the payment,

as to no VED going on until this morning that sound BS from the dealership.

I never confirmed it with Motability I assumed what the dealership said was what happened maybe I’m too trusting

Bet you’re getting impatient now to get behind the wheel of your new toy!! I certainly am!

Definitely am. Although now I'm wondering if it will go to the dealer before me or somewhere else. I'd pick it up rather than wait on delivery if I could!

I would imagine it would have to go to Lawrie’s first for the PDI before they deliver it to you. Give them a call in the morning to double check.

@cboyle7 , do you know the registration number to see in what area the First Registration was done.

There are reception centres where PDI's & even Dealer Fit Option fitments are done before onward transportation.

@Neilsam55,

Worth checking with Motability tomorrow, just to be sure to be sure.

No little accidents happened with the car and Kerbside Auto Touch Ups doing their bit.  I am sure that would never happen though.  Well should not...

Got the registration. Starts with DE. Although it isn't registered until November first interesting enough

DE is for the Chester to Shrewsbury area.

So Ellesmere Port / Liverpool area.   Near enough.

Makes sense

I was told by Alex Lawrie (Johnsons) it was to do with where the business / dealership was originally registered which was Deeside, or something along those lines...

I'm sure you'll appreciate a nice piece of useless info to start the day ;)

I contacted Skoda Live Chat this morning to check on the status of my order, an Edition in petrol blue, as the confirmed build week was this week.

To my surprise I was informed that the car had been built, left the factory on the 24/10/18 and is now on the way to Emden.

Exciting times ahead!!!

Mine is been built this week and was told it takes two weeks to build and 4+ weeks for delivery. I think they must be giving worst case, so I don't moan!

NEWS! MY SE L 1.5 TSI DSG arrived at the UK port of Sheerness yesterday! What a lovely surprise.

Hello everyone, bought a 2.0TDI 4x4 last weekend (21 Oct) from stock available at Emden. Dealer is talking about a possible collection next week (3 Nov) but Skoda online chat are estimating end of November. Status has been sitting at released for shipment for 5 days. Reading through this there seems to be a huge variation on delivery times.

The car will be arriving at Tyne. Can anyone tell be what their recent experience of the time taken from the car being released for shipment to it being available at the dealers?

Thanks

I also noticed my car won't be registered till the 1st November. Guess that means another week atleast

@cboyle7,  & is this a Karoq SE Technology 1.6 TDI DSG,?

so WLTP approved so no real reason not to be First Registered other than it being a November 2018 car.

Not as though they want more First Registrations in the last quarter since that started in October.

Yes it is.

looks like my dealer is playing games..called last sat ( 20th) n said that my new Karoq (1.5 SEL DSG) should be here this Wednesday..fixed up a time for handover tomorrow, 27th..the car didn't turn up on Wednesday due to transportation delay ( official response)..neither did it turn up yesterday ..called him in the morning and he said that he is still not sure whether it will turn up today..if it does then we are still ok for handover tomorrow.if not then he says to come within this month i.e Mon-Wed for handover..Something doesn't smell   right ( cause how can he be sure it will turn up before next Wednesday) or am I just been paranoid waiting for this car for 3 months ...have signed my registration form ( starting 27th) ..too close yet so far for me atm

"Please manage customers expectations with regards to handover."

Sounds like some Dealership Employees take that to mean jerk them about and take the pith!

Just give out any old crap and string it along.

You ask your Motability salesperson or if you contact Skoda Live you will need your order number! Having said that, if you ordered in July it should be built by now and on its way to the dealers.

Hi,

Myself and my wife ordered a Skoda Karoq SE L DSG 1.6 TDi in Petrol Blue metallic (no options) on the 5th August through Blade Skoda Gloucester using the Motability scheme.

Phil Laitt at the dealer has been wonderful to deal with, giving us weekly video updates etc.

Unfortunately one of the last updates I received said that there was still no build date due to the WLTP regualtions etc.

I got quite concerned then, so I emailed Skoda customer services for more information.

Skoda Customer Services promised a response within 48 hours, six days later having heard nothing I sent them a polite email reminding them about my query.

Two more days passed and having had no response I decided to forward my email to Volkswagen Group CEO Mr Herbert Diess and Skoda UK Director Rod McLeod.

Funnily enough, I had a call from Rod's personal assistant Aneesa Joyce within the hour.

She informed me I would receive another call before the end of the day from their customer relations manager Asmah Hussain.

I did receive the call and the news was not what I wanted to hear, the car did indeed have no build date and we were looking at March/April next year for delivery....

I then told them that I had found a similar spec car held in stock at a Skoda dealer in Salisbury Wiltshire and I wished to cancel the factory order and get this one instead...

This seemed to send a firework through their office they called me the next day to say my car now had a build week of 44 (end October) and we were looking at December for delivery.

Hopefully they stick to their word....

Oliver.

Dealer have been in touch and they are estimating 2nd week in November for us to collect our new Karoq.

Let's see if it actually gets built next week, this has been a long and painful road....

What drugs are they on that a car not built can be delivered in another 2-3 weeks?

On the adverts they should include, 'Please manage customers expectations on delivery times'.   As good a 'Simply Clever'.
