Mine has also just left the factory! We are collecting from Epsom. I'm very keen to see how long yours takes. What spec did you go for again?

I am getting a Petrol Blue 1.5 TSi SEL DSG with black leather upholstery and a space saver spare wheel and a dealer fitted dash cam. I will be contacting Skoda UK again on Monday to see where it is then as it’s likely to come into Grimsby before being transported to the dealer in Liverpool.

Build date confirmed as week of 22nd October. Could mine be first UK Karoq with digital dash?

I picked mine up this morning.  Horrible weather which was a real shame.

Very smooth....very quiet...very eager...supple ride...but still handles very well. Good grip on these wet roads after dry spell. Initially a bit of judder on pull away but that seemed to go away. Unusual for me, I did spin the front wheels a bit....fiddled with the traction control and again seems to now be OK. Seems to need to be 50 plus to go into D7.

I need to have a play with with the settings and work out fully how all the toys work

I was impressed that once the fuel light came on there is an message inviting you to find a fuel station and then direct you to it.

Radio presets sorted

Enjoy.

Very new tyres, 'green tyres' not unusual to spin on just damp roads let alone wet.  (what pressure were yours at when you collected the car?)

Why driving in / running in has a section in the Owners Manual, due to new tyres, brakes, suspension and the drive train so taking things easy for a while can be simply clever.

I have not checked the pressures yet. Just collected, fuelled it and returned home.

I'm busy making a 'Running in...Please pass' sign out of an old cornflake box at the moment....I'm disappointed the dealer had not put one in!!

No settings afaik. If car is your own, not leased I'd hard wire it.

The kit includes a plug which fits into a suitable fuse socket (powered with ignition on) and original fuse fits in top.

That's nice if they provide the kit for that. I'll look into the hard wiring option then thanks. Just saw the karoq guide section and it has some instruction about getting to the fuse box in the glove compartment.

It’s shrunk in the rain

Checking tyre pressures is for safety, but also to get an idea how good the PDI is, and if they are still up at 50 psi then time to check the Transport Blocks were removed, then check the cold levels of the coolant and oil, just so you know what was handed over to you.

Running in certainly does not mean not going at UK NSL's seeing as the RPM's they recommend, that is more than enough for trucking along.

It is amazing though how many new cars are in crashes within about 50 miles of a hand over,

green tyres and seeing what they will do.

Has anyone published a good checklist of the things a customer should check before they drive there new car away from the dealer? Things like transport blocks would never occur to me.

I don't think transport blocks are something you would spot, as the car needs jacking up so you can see under the wheel arches and lift the rubber boot.

Lots of threads in various Briskoda sections where people ask,

and do a search on 'transport blocks'  2 good threads going just last week.

Sometimes not easy to spot transport blocks which is why drivers can complain for a year about a hard ride, then find there were transport blocks all that time on the car.

PS if the Tyre Pressures are unsafe, high or low at handover or different pressures on the same axle you get the Dealership to collect the car have the Master Tech do a PDI again and ensure the Transport Blocks are removed, wheel bolt torque correct etc.

Only way that Managers learn to supervise and train employees.

^^^ The put the steering wheel at the right side of the car, it would be Simply Clever if they put on a sticker in the filler flap with BAR and PSI and there would be less drivers confused.

More Simply Clever than a Ice Scrapper in there.

Tyre pressure info is in the fuel filler lid, behind the wonderful plastic ice scraper. My 1.5 SE-L dsg td is fitted with Bridgestone Turanza T001 tyres. 215-50-18. 92W,  which is a size not listed anywhere I can find for the Karoq.

2.1 to 2.5 bar equals 31 to 36 psi for the heaviest load I'm likely to carry so maybe I'll drop to 31 for normal use.

Found them advertised on the net at £87 which is forty quid cheaper than Michelins for the old Citroen. (Not that I'll be looking to buy any).

Why do you need a running in sign in the back if your Karoq?

^^^ for comedy purposes, we used to have those back in the days when the UK went decimal & metric.

But stayed with Miles & MPG but then not long after bought fuel in litres. & still see things in yards, feet and inches.

Don't like the Bridgestone had them on the fabia they didn't last very long. Pot luck what tyres are fitted but think Bridgestone are fitted most often by Skoda.

Bridgestone Duelers are just not suitable for a country like the UK where people might not not fit Winter tyres in Winter conditions.

Surely you mean your 1.6 TDI SEL DSG?!!

Near enough. It's a turbo diesel automatic.

I bought my first new car in 1975......running in for the first 500 or 1000 miles whilst the the mechanical components bedded down and brakes tyres etc settled in

....of course even modern cars brakes and tyres need to be run in to some extent and drivers also need to become accustomed to their new car.

the ‘please pass’ too often meant that one’ s pride a joy had failed to proceed yet again and following motorists would be well advised to drive around this unwelcome obstacle.

FWIW ‘failed to proceed’ is the Rolls Royce version of ‘broken down’
