Order a Karoq SE-L 1.6 diesel in July via Motorabilty  hoping to pick the car up at the end of November. how do you find out your week build number.

I have been in contact with the dealer now I have been told deliver date is now the second week in December so we will wait and see what happens because reading other post dealers have given more then one deliver date

Your dealer should be able to give you the build week and failing that get your order number from him and contact Skoda UK Live Chat and they will be able to tell you..

My dealer was useless got no updates at all even when i got the order number had to do the ground work myself still haven’t heard from him except when I placed the order back in July

@MARKINCREWE,   Welcome.   Have you discussed this with Motability?, because really the Dealership are not taking your order seriously.

Something has gone wrong here and WLTP is not all there is to be blamed.

Just to let you know you won’t get a confirmed build week until the week before ure unconfirmed build week then it’s 2 weeks to build the car and 4 - 6 weeks for delivery although some people have been getting them delivered sooner than that

Finally got a confirmed build week 46 next week for my 1.6 se l black automatic karoq so hopefully have it before Christmas has been a long road as 6 months from original order and being told 10 or 11 weeks

Seems mine is running a week ahead of yours. Be interesting to see who's arrives first.

Seems all of us that went for the 1.6tdi SE L DSG on the motability scheme have been lumped together to me and now are finally getting delivery forecasts

Something far wrong there that Motability should be taking up with Skoda UK, not just dealerships.

Cars were ordered later than ones that were ordered at Dealers with Motability Agreements and are with the customers.

There are some rather good Motability offers this quarter on Nil & Low Advance Payments.

When there are crazy waiting times that really can be an issue though.  Skoda UK seem to have allowed this farce to have happened.

Ultimately your delivery speed will depend upon orders for others.  After the initial train ride to Emden (within a day), joins all the other VW Group cars for UK.   As VW have also had build delays there is likely to be available space on next ship (roughly 2 per week).  At busy times might wait 2-3 weeks for ship.   If the ship is big/full then more cars awaiting for transporteres (and there could be other ships, eg SEAT from Spain discharging just before yours arrives) . Once in UK it simply needs to wait for a road transporter going to your dealer.  Not going to send it with one car, so need other customers cars to fill it (might do a split drop to 2 dealers).  The further West from the Ports you are geographically, restricts the delivery planning.   Car will probably leave port in middle of night as most Dealers only accept cars Mon-Fri service opening hours.   I understand some older transporters were not designed for lots of SUVs, and some journeys are too far for one driver in a day,  which could further delay it.  Dealer will then take 1-5 days to PDI depending on other jobs their staff have

Hang on, the dealer shouldn't take thr AP till you take delivery. If they have taken ot already you need to get in touch with motabilty. Yeah think last quarters ap drop was why so many went for it and swamped them. Have been on the verge of cancelling mine but really want to get one.

Would’ve cancelled mine had I not paid the ap up front though lesson learnt won’t be doing that again

You can cancel now, and get any money a Dealership took plus Interest Back.  Ask for the Interest rate they would take for finance.

No way should a Dealership have the the Advance Payment for a Motability vehicle you are going to lease once Motability buy it.

The Advance Payment is guaranteed at the time of ordering so in that Quarter and can be less when delivered but not higher,

and Motability agree the contract and no Advance Payment should be made until the hand over after the inspection and when you are putting in the PIN for Motability to pay for the car, and you pay the Advance Payment and any Extras you arranged / ordered.

Still think worth letting Motability know. Dealer being naughty taking it tbh.

Thanks for that offski Wasn’t told that by my dealer at least I’ll know for the next time though don’t think I’ll deal with Skoda again has left a bad taste in my mouth

You are entitled to the money now.  They are not.

Something not right going on.  Really you should talk with Motability today.   The money can be back in your account by tonight,

Thanks for that offski but think I’ll just leave it don’t want to upset the apple cart now it’s so close to getting the car and my condition has worsen that I really need the automatic car don’t fancy starting all over again and going through the same process with some other manufacturer just don’t get why they can’t tell the truth

Is all the paperwork with you from Motability, your PIN etc ready for collection?

My concern for you is the Salesperson you have dealt with who should be the Motability Specialist.

I have 40 years experience of Motability and have never seen a chancer taking money upfront.

I second this, the Live Chat is best for regular updated, although, it seems like their system is sometimes a little behind.

I agree with using live chat. However when a major update happens and I find out from live chat 10 mins later I get an email from dealer saying say thing! So I guess they inform the dealer if you contact them.
