Got a Kodiak, very pleased but why cant they carry out a virtual pedal upgrade for the tail gate.

Surely it is only a soft ware addition.

Any suggestion.

No, there is additional hardware needed, I would have thought it would be that hard to retro-fit though.

My thoughts aswell but told a definate with out even thinking ... NO !!!!!

razak,  so you told you no, a salesperson, a master tech or  A. N. Other / Man from Del-monte?

Service manager via service reception.

There you go then, someone with no knowledge of mechanical engineering other than what he / she picks up in the job in a garage front of house & talking to terchnicians.

Maybe some typing / IT / Customer Service NVQ or the likes

Ask a Technician. Maybe not a Main Dealership one though.

I think there are two separate questions relevant: (1) is it possible to add the virtual pedal, and (2) is the dealership prepared to quote for, and undertake, something of which they have no experience.

If it were my own car, I might attempt it.  If I were the dealer, I'd run a mile!

Somebody on this forum did a tutorial of him fitting it DIY.

Thank you very much, that is the kind of info I was looking and hoping for.

I cant find this tutorial, does anybody know of the link?

The wiring is probably not in the car. So that puts it beyond a dealer. It would need the extra control module, sensor, wiring, and recoding of the car. Not possible to be done by a dealer, and not possible at all are different things.

Sorry I can't find it but if you wade through the search you'll find it somewhere. Also try this thread on the other forum may be useful.

Personally I'd rather just have an old fashioned manual tailgate as I lost my patience with mine ages ago. (Ps I only have the powered tailgate, not the virtual pedal)

Main dealers generally wont do anything that isnt a skoda approved accessory.  Its too much hassle for them to try figure it out.

The wild haggis I posted an answer but it hasn't been approved/posted possibly because it contains a link to another Kodiak forum, which seems a bit petty. Anyway I hope you find what you need.

Unfortunately the Briskoda mods don't appear very friendly towards their fellow Skoda related forums and social media sources. Shame.

re the auto block, it was my choice. It happened after a number of links promoting it, when it started appeared, basically promoting it on anything mentioning kodiaq... I'm a bit old fashioned in thinking it's nice to be asked before xy and z.

I asked for a comment, view, anything to kick a good discussion of, no pm's were replied to. So as I was ignored and the links carried on, so it got added to a filter. To be honest I think that's the second time the filter has kicked in, so it's not like it happens very often in a year or however long ago it happened. It is water under the bridge, I have a lot of filters in place, 99% of them are to protect us from junk. Oddly reviewing them isn't high on my daily list of things to do. HTH. I was away last week which is why it sat on the queue to be approved :D
