My Columbus RNS 510 is going through the dreaded re-boot sequence with loud thumps out of the speakers while it does it so its time to get it repaired.

 

Others here have said nice things about this place  http://rns510repairserviceuk.com/ but I've emailed them with no reply, left a message on their answerphone and eventually spoke to a woman who said 'sure we still do it' before I got cut off.

 

Doesn't fill me with confidence although their prices are very good - Fix re-boot £90, upgrade maps £20, enable TV £15...

 

Can anyone recommend them? Are they legit?

 

Also, if I take the thing out to send to them, will the car still drive and things work? (I've noticed the air con doesn't work when it is doing its rebooting stuff)

Yes I saw him but his prices didn't include many of the services that the other place does (update maps, update firmware, enable TV) all of which would be good to get done

Maybe he does them but he didn't seem to say so.

Also my link specifically mentioned the reboot problem which Rustynuts doesn't.

 

Nevertheless, if Rustynuts is good then I'll go there.

I've already pm'ed him to find out how we send units back to him
