Skoda Octavia judders when decelerating

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recently got my Skoda Octavia, Noticed over the last few weeks a judder when decelerating from relative high speeds. It's getting annoying and was wondering if anyone has such an experience and how it was fixed.

Many Thanks

Is it only when you brake?

If so start looking at the brakes.

Does the steering wheel shake?

Or maybe the front lower arm suspension rear control bushes are worn.

Thanks AG Falco

Hi AGFalco,

Thanks for the info.

It only happens when am braking. there is however a small vibrating on the  steering wheel, not so bad to annoy the life out of me.

Regards

You can jack the front wheels up and see if they spin freely. If not then suspect the brakes.

This is with the car out of gear.

With the wheels down put a long bar on one of the wheel bolts and lever it up/down.

Then see if the wheel moves forwards/backwards without the car moving.

This could indicate that the front lower arm suspension rear control bushes are worn.

Thanks AG Falco
