Superb vs Passat for tall people

Featured Replies

How do very tall people find sitting in Superb front seats?

With my very long legs even when I try raise front of the seat highest it can go,  I am still missing some under the knee support.

In Passat you get this handle which can pump front of the seat very high up which Superb does not have. Yes, you can raise the seat with electrics somewhat but nowhere near close to what you can do it Passat.

I’m comfortable in the Superb; I’m 202 cm’s.

Electric seats on the Superb permit the angle of the seat base to be altered  which might help. Only certain was to check is to try one.

There was a thread a few weeks ago where someone posted a guide to setting up a seat correctly. To my surprise (I had always thought under knee support was a good thing) it recommended there being a certain gap between the seat and your knees so maybe jacking the front of the seat up so high is not needed nor desirable.

obviously you need to have some play under the knee otherwise you wouldnt be able to press the brake to the floor :D

has anybody tried these seats in Passat actually?

I tried a Passat Highline prior to buying another Superb. The seat wasn´t any better IMHO.

The drivers seat in the Superb is good but I do miss the small "slide out" bit that my previous Audi A6 had.  This was on the flat part of the seat and you could extend it out to give you a bit more support under the knees.

That said, the offset position of the seat in relation to the pedals was horrific.

I'm 6 foot 2 and find the Superb seat and position very comfortable.

I’m 6’ 4”. I had a current model Passat prior to my current Suberb. No problems with the seats in either.

Try a long journey in a small korean family car then you will realise the superb seat is quite comfy.

I don't find the seats too bad, but the footrest for the left foot (DSG) is too close for my liking.

I'm 6'2" and have the seat as far back as it will go - further than the seat memory settings will allow!

I'm 6ft2 and although I haven't tried the ones in the current generation Passat, the ones in my Superb Mk2, and the ones in the Superb Mk3 I've just ordered both adjust perfectly well for me, the ones in the Mk3 had a little more bum support I found.

You aren't supposed to have the chair touching the rear of your knees as it can cut off a degree of circulation on long trips potentially causing a DVT.

The rear base of the seat can drop as well as the front bit being raised, giving the feeling of being IN the seat as opposed to ON it.

I'm 6'4" and run the Superb Sportline seats as low as possible. Find them perfectly comfortable. (I found that the electric seats go slightly lower than the manual ones and I like to sit as low as possible)

do rear passengers have room below the seat for legs in that case?

I can sit comfortably behind myself if that makes sense.

The main reason we brought the car - my 2 kids (7 & 5) who are still in kid seats meaning their legs stick forwards rather than bending over the edge  as an adult would, they have loads of space far more than the BMW 5 series we had before and far more than the E class Merc we looked at.
