SatNav updates

Featured Replies

Hi again.

As my Scout is less than 3 year's old do I get free SatNav updates?
I've read on the internet that they should be downloaded and then the Infotainment centre updated.
I have an empty box in the glove compartment which seems to be something to do with the system.
Should this contain some sort of downloading device and instructions?

You can get map updates from Skoda (or elsewhere on web) regardless of under or over 3 years.

Do you know if your system is Amundsen or Columbus? The update procedure is slightly different. Do you have a Skoda branded SD card in one of the Glovebox SD slots?

Hi

Many thanks.

My system is an Amundsen.

My son found a CD player in the glove box which I presume also houses the SD card.

I will check tomorrow morning in daylight for the SD card, but, as the SatNav works fine I presume it must be there!

BTW I have also found a thin manusl in with the handbook something about "Smartgate" - by having a manual does that mean I have one and if so what is it?

Sorry for appearing thick but I haven't had a new car for 14 years!
