New '06 vRS

Featured Replies

Picked up my (second) new Furby last night. Wow.... less than 2 years on, but things have improved in minor ways.

The leather seats are absolutely super. Very understated in shade of black, and grey thread stitching. And comfy. The people that installed them arrived with the replacement seats, unpacked & then photographed every element to be able to prove no scratches etc. The dealer said they were v. professional. At

Glad it has impressed you so much Roger.

My 55 plate vRS also reads 4mph out at anything over 70 -- according to TomTom! At least they seem to be consistantly out :)

The Swissol will be out tomorrow !!

It's freezing!!!!!

Yea that complimentary wipe 5 seconds after its cleaned the windscreen always catches me out, I keep thinking if left the wiper on the first click and try to cancel it! DOH!! Very happy with mine aswell but I 100% agree with the road noise its wild compared to my previous mk4, I thought I was going to have to get sound deadening! bring on the new tyres!

is that two fabias in ya houshold or ya sold one and got another?

Note some of what you've mentioned applies to facelift models dating back to 2004...

Had my VRS 3 weeks now and having driven over a mixture of roads/journeys continue to be impressed.

I agree only critiscm I have at present is the amount of road noise from tyres, also running Bridgstones.

You say your previous car was quieter, what tyres did you have on that and how did they perform?

I've previously been impressed by Pirellis.

I don't have 2 Furbys mikejay, only need 1 :) , and none of the things I mentioned were on my June 1st 2004 vRS, new from factory, David. Maybe they came later in year.

Last Furby came with Michelins, lasted 40k doing 4 tyre rotation only, and replaced with Avon unidirectional. Both quieter than Bridgestones, wear on Avons very poor but brilliant in the wet. Will probably change spare for an alloy, and do 5 tyre rotation. Has anyone else tried an alloy in the boot ??

Your old car was a late Mark1 - the facelift car came in around September 2004 though I think some changes (the dashboard?) might have been earlier. So my September 2004 facelift car has the deleted rear door buttons, the extra wipe on washing, a proper centre rear belt etc (different front grille, different rear lights, etc).

I mentioned it because I looked at the thread expecting to see an account of the 2006vRS and further differences to my car, but haven't seen any yet...

At least your old car had the sports ratio gearbox so no differences there.
