Enable TSA and LA

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a Kodiaq 190 TDI Style with area view, park- and trailerassist.

Is it possible to activate TSA and/or LA only by coding or do I have to do hardware installations also?

Regards,

Robert

If you have the camera in the windscreen then it can be coded.

Ok, I have to check that.

Is that a factory fit camera (or a dash cam) as it’s different to the others I have seen.

Factory, My car was build in week 2 2018.

Does enabling TSA void the warranty? Because i'm interested in the same (I do have LA).

No as it’s an option available from the factory.

It may just be a MY change then... or it may not be the correct camera.

Maybe.
How do I decide if it's the right camera then?

The only way to be 100%  sure would be to scan the car and see if it has a ‘A5’ controller

Ok. Thanks

Pretty sure that's a standard 'lowline' camera that is used for high beam assist. It's very similar to the camera I added to my MK2 Octavia for HBA.

You'd need a 'highline' camera for TSA and LA. It has a completely different mount and would need a new windscreen fitting...

At a guess, your lowline camera is either 565 857 511 A or 565 857 511 B.

A highline camera is probably either 3QD 980 654, 3QD 980 654 G or 3QD 980 654 H depending on when the car was manufactured.

If you got the upgraded camera, you will probably need a new windscreen I think.

There has to be a point where ticking the option box when ordering would have been cheaper? Not to mention much less effort and risk involved.

I know. I'm mostly curious, but I regret that I didn't take that option now.
