Hi all,

I want to upgrade the Canton Sound System of my Octy 3. Currently is stock and the HU is Columbus.

What I would like to do is replace the front door speakers with my Focal polyglass, and replace the subwoofer.
It would really be good if I had the chance to adjust the Xover between Front/Rear/Sub afterwards.

 

There are 3 options that came to mind, but I cannot find anywhere if they are possible, so all your comments are welcome !

Option1 --> I would prefer to use an extension cable for the Quadlock, so I can tap into the signal for Front, Rear and Sub without damaging the original cabling of the car. These would go into a new amplifier and the Canton amp would only be used for the center speaker.
Option 2 --> Sum the High Level outputs of the canton Sub. But then I would need to sum 10 channels (FL tweeter, FL mid, FR tweeter, FR mid, RL tweeter, RL mid, RR tweeter, RR mid, and 2 sub), which seems unhandy. I read other forum members did this, but I wonder how, since they used an 6 channel summing unit (Audio Contol LC7i)?

Option 3 --> get the High levels for the front doors and sub only and sum these to a new amp, which then drives the Sub and Fronts. This way I have Xover functionality, just not at the rears.

 

What would you advice?

Did you ever proceed with this plan? I want to replace my front Canton speakers on my Karoq but I believe they are 8 ohm and all I can find to replace them with are 4 ohm. Thanks!

I would be very gratefull to you if you could tell me if I can add navigation program and maps to my factory Bolero radio from Octavia 3 RS 2.0 TDI. MY 2018. I think it has gps antenna both for radio and navigation.
