*headdesk* I'm giving up on this one, how you are meant to know what you are buying and what will actually turn up is beyond me.

Would be easier if they built every car in a MY the same and only changed once a year and the sales guys should really be more on top of situation, but I suppose to keep up with every change on every model is nigh impossible

Conversely mine turned up with a feature that I did not order and is not standard for my spec in terms I gave KESSY.

As above I suspect the salesman did not lie to you as such but just did not know there were differences between a car made in October and one made now.

I think the sales guys were more than aware, once I've done some more "digging" I'll be happy to name and shame so others are aware.

This all started with them "misreading" the codes on the car, which meant they told me originally it had a heated screen - a follow up phone call told me that it didn't actually have it. I decided to carry on as the heated screen was a nice to have but in hind sight I should have realised back then....

What this now looks like to me is they had a car in port which was half old half new spec, told me it was spec as per the current brochure to sell it to me, letting me take delivery before I find out it's not quite the car I thought it was. At best this is just a ckup, at worst they knowingly did it....

Whatever the outcome my reviews and customer feedback are going to be honest, I'll also refer this to the Motor Ombudsman, just to make sure they're not mugging people who haven't done as much digging as I have.

It is a bit odd that you have no paddles on the steering wheel as they have always been standard on the sportline dsg, is yours the 3 spoke flat bottomed one ?

Yeah! It's basically the one from a manual by the looks of it....

thebigred, hope you get things sorted I hate it when I don't get something I thought i was , something does seem dodgy. We got our 2.0 TDI 150 7 speed Dsg Sel exc last week it was in stock at the port as we needed car quickly ,September build according to vin and it has sim slot with latest Columbus nav .

Looks like a bit of a lottery with the sim thing

Just put my vin into my skoda app and build date 12 Jan 2018 not Sep 17 as I previously thought ,hmm could be why mines got the SIM .

But according to the spec all of them should have had them, even the previous model year, unless you’ve picked a heated non paddle wheel.

Mine isnt heated.

Mine. Isn’t heated either.

mine was a ex demo car so i couldn’t have opted for them or without them. But I will make a call to the dealer tomorrow to see what they have to say about it.

I have a model year 2018 SEL Executive. It most definitely didn't come with the premium WiFi option which has the SIM slot (and therefore can do rSIM profile). I knew this was about £300 extra when I ordered it and whilst rSIM would be useful (who'd have a separate SIM contract for the car?) I would not use it often enough. So I just enable the mobile hotspot on the mobile - if I needed it frequently I'd have the phone enable that automatically when it connect to the car Bluetooth.

My car was delivered in October but build week was 38 I think.

As a matter of interest how many keys did people get I had 3 kessy sets salesman told me it was a lottery with those as well as some only came with 2

Back to missing paddles....

Phoned SUK this morning, still no update, the case manager has 48 hours from Friday to review and get back to me. I've decided to hold off insuring it (needed a new policy anyway) because if they can't sort something I'll give it back. Ideally I just want them to fit the paddles, depending on cost I'd consider taking some money and getting it done myself.

Over here you get three keys if you order ‘Personalization’ as an option.

I can’t believe if some missing padlles will turn into a ‘hand car back’ situation. It’s dead easy for the dealer to retrofit them, and I can imagine the cost would be lower than taking the car back.

Oh I agree, I don't want to give it back, but I will if they turn it into a difficult situation. What this comes down to is if the dealer can be bothered to put some effort in to resolve it, which is why I'm holding off on all reviews and SUK Customer feedback etc regarding the dealer, their resolution will define what's said in the feedback and it's important people are honest and accurate about how dealers handle situations like this.

@thebigred- Just as an FYI and something you can use to strengthen your case should it go south with the dealer.  I've had email confirmation from Skoda UK Product Marketing that the DSG paddles are standard on UK spec Sportlines.

Just in case they ever dispute it then pm with your email address and I'll forward you the email.

I got my car just over a year ago and it wasn't as ordered although it was different to your problems  - I had a missing Traffic Sign recognition camera and wrong wheels - Modus 18"  fitted instead of 19" Sirius wheels. Dealer was quite good about it - they offered me the chance to keep the Modus wheels for a few weeks and then decide if I wanted to change to what I had ordered. I decided to keep the Modus as I quite liked them - they refunded the difference in cost plus £100. As compensation for the missing  TSR camera (option cost was £85) they have given me the first two services for free (value £279). Hope this assists in resolving your problems, my only issue would be that I wasn't that too bothered about the TSR camera but I would have been bothered about missing DSG paddles.

A missing A5 camera would have been a dealbreaker for me. Without that you can´t have Lane Assist or High Beam Assist :)

Thanks Speedman, useful info. My dealer have simply said "It's skoda UK's problem" - which I know isn't true, I'm still waiting for a call back now from SUK.

SUK did manage to sort the (only just) out of warranty water pump replacement FOC for my vRS, the dealer tried to charge me £1,000 and lied about raising a call with SUK. Turns out it was a known issue which should have been sorted during a service anyway.

I've been offered nothing so far in terms of compensation.
