Skoda Won’t stop

Featured Replies

Skoda Octavia Mk2 1.4 wouldn’t stop this morning when I parked up, I stalled it and now it won’t turn off fully it says there’s fuel in the car based off the reader and the lights are all on

Any ideas on stopping this zombie so I can get it looked at?

You could try disconnecting the battery and leave for about 30 mins before reconnecting

Have you had any work done on it recently? I had the same with an older car once, turned out a replay had been put in the wrong way, could take the keys out and walk off and leave the car running

Disconnected the battery and that stopped the car, didn’t start once I connected it again but started once pushed and turned over despite it not cranking before hand

only thing that’s been done is I changed the spark plugs

edit: also changed a fuse for the cigarette lighter and tried changing fuses around to get OBD port to work

Possible that maybe the wrong fuse has caused something, or dislodged something? As the Lighter would be a permanent live, could it has cross-wired to the ignition barrel somehow causing it to stay on once on? I assume you can take the key out and it still runs?

Hmm, try and re-trace your steps if it's been faulty since this

Faulty ignition barrel.
