Retrofit front sensors

Featured Replies

I have just traded in my superb II L&K for a shiny almost new superb III sportline but as part of the deal the garage are going to retrofit front sensors. I’m now a little worried that the retrofit will look a bit rubbish on such a nice car. They said that that the sensors will be flush and colour matched to the dragon green  but there will be a separate switch inside to turn them on. I did ask if we couldn’t just use the existing spare slots near the gear lever but they looked blankly. Having a bit of a poke around it looks like there are companies that will not only fit OEM sensors but fully integrated into the car to allow full function from the car automatically.

What do people think should I just let the garage go ahead or try to get a couple hundred back and pay someone else to do the proper OEM job.

I'd ask somewhere else to hook it up with your existing switch on the centre console. It will get too annoying otherwise!

They have perhaps understandingly gone for the cheap version. I did this once on a new Toyota Avensis (principle is the same) and insisted that it was a factory match. This they did with no fuss.

Does anyone know anyone in the uk that does a good job for the OEM retrofit. I want to stop it before if needed so I don’t have a hole in my dashboard

Give Paul a call on the above website.

He has just fitted my detachable towbar and can confirm his attention to detail is superb.

I asked him the very same question as you regarding fitting front sensors to my sportsline and he said he can do them but they are not cheap.

He will be getting the job of me soon.

I think the price was around the £600 mark which will be fitted at his workshop in Higham on the hill near Nuneaton.

After having him do the work on my towbar I won’t be trusting anyone else with my car other than him.
