Sunroof creaks/rattles solved.

Thanks very much for this update. I have also recently purchased a 2019 L&K Superb hatch and am dealing with this issue. I popped out the trim around the sunroof to find that 95% of the squeaks were away, but noticed today on a motorway run the rattle you describe. I shall try some grease tomorrow and see how that works out. Quite annoying. Also the odd groan from the driver side A frame trim spoils another wise excellent car. Hopefully I can iron out these issues in time.

I hope it solves it for you too, seems crazy simple on reality!

The only other thing I have now is a slight rattle at low speed from the driver's side door, sounds a bit like when window switches get a bit worn and loose but doesnt appear to be that. Its not spoiling the drive like the sunroof was however so not concerned.

I meant to ask in my previous post, did you use any specific grease on the clips?

I actually used a bicycle spray lube as I could get a straw in there to prevent it going everywhere. This was Mucoff All Weather spray lube but in an ideal world Id use some slippery lithium grease if I didnt have access issues. I dont think its an area that gets any water exposure so shouldnt need redoing once done. I also used a small amount of the lube on a rag across all the rubber seals once I had ruled out the clips, more just to help stop them getting dirty and manky.

So I opted against the lube option in the end. I conducted a series of tests over the weekend and found that almost all the groans are eliminated with popping out all the clipped sections around the entire sunroof. However as mentioned before this rattle on the motorway was observed depending on road surface. I was a little hesitant with the lube option given the poor access the the clips, and chances I would made a mess, and the job need revisiting from time to time. So in the end I decided to wedge the clips ever so slightly away from the surface they were rattling against. I used some thin cardboard folded a few times to give a snug fit, and then wedged these into the gap. Its enough width to ensure the clips make no contact, but  no enough that I would be worried about deformation in the lining. From the drivers / passengers seats they are unable to be seen.

Another run down the motorway and the rattle is eliminated, as is the final remaining groans in the roof / A frame. Surprisingly, a 100% fix thanks to a few pieces of card!

Thats another cheap option! I think it just comes down to using metal clips on the glass reinforced plastic part, if it was a different material it might not groan and squeak.

Good evening folks, greetings from Croatia.

I purchased a used Superb in April, 114.000km and so far it has been a great car. I work at a automotive logistics center so I have access to good mechanics and discounts on certain car parts which enables me to do proper service on my Superb, since I change the oil every 10.000km.
Unfortunately, a problem with the sunroof appeared but a quirky one and I don't really thing the sunroof mechanism is the issue, but if affects the sunroof.

When I use the console where the sunroof buttons are, or when I press the interior lighting buttons, instead of a fade "click" for the past 2-3 weeks I've been hearing a much deeper click that unfortunately resonates alongside the sunroof. Today I did a lot of testing and the "clicking" noise appears to come from the rear passenger doors. I don't even have to press a button or use the sunroof lever to move it, event tapping the overhead console can active the unusual clicking noise, as if something is dislodged in the console.
That noise appears 90% of the time, with the shade open or closed or with the sunroof open or closed, it does not make a difference.

I have to say that the sunroof does not leak whatsoever, the mechanism works without a flaw and it was properly maintained since purchased new, in 2019. Do you have any idea what could be the issue with that noise?

Attached is a YT video that i hope shows the situation and in which you can hear the specific clicking noise

Skoda Superb Sunroof noise

If you have any idea what the cause of the noise might be or perhaps even a solution I would greatly appreciate the help.

Ivan.

Hello everyone. I want to revive the topic. My 2019 model vehicle has a glass window. But the noises are getting boring. When the weather gets warmer, there are rattling noises coming from the entire sunshade section between the windshield and the glass window of the vehicle and they never decrease. I have come to the point of removing the headliner for this. Is there anyone who can help?

Oldukça can sıkıcı. Ayrıca sürücü tarafındaki A şasi döşemesinden gelen garip inleme sesi de bir başka mükemmel arabayı mahvediyor. Umarım bu sorunları zamanında çözebilirim.

How did you remove the roof window around, was it difficult? I complain about the same problem, but I can't find a solution.
