Coilovers

Featured Replies

Hey all,

The car came with coilovers and while I understand the logic etc behind them. I've never actually got round to having them on a car before.

So the car is too low for my liking, question is - is there any dos and don'ts when  giving a bit more height?

Cheers

Yeah, don’t make it the same height it came out the factory :D

No wasn't planning that much. What's the best height? I've sleeping police men and splitter rubs the road when it goes over.

I can just about put my fingers between the wheel and wing and I’m good on most speed bumps. There’s always somewhere you’re gonna catch your splitter, so drive and park accordingly.

@Highlander77 - Do get the tracking checked when you've got a height you're comfortable with. It's about the only adjustment that's possible on the Furbie 1.

Okay went to raise the car this afternoon and just to find the c-spanner (adjustable) does not fit!! As the collar has a round holes and not this more rectangle end shaped spanner!

Is there another way of adjusting without the proper spanner? I'm trying to locate a replacement and might be getting somewhere and don't really want buy from ebay again in case its the incorrect size etc.

So you can simply grind and file the square end to fit the round hole, it's five minutes work.

I was thinking of trying that idea. Cheers
