Spotify on Amundsen

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

First ever post.

Have recently purchased a July 2015 Octavia VRS. It's amazing! Had a Mk1 years ago and loved that too.

I have read my manuals etc but still struggling.

I have no USB port under the head unit. It's an MDI slot I believe, but no cable supplied with car. I have connected my iPhone 7 via Bluetooth and it will play music from my Apple Music icon. However, I no longer use Apple Music and subscribe to Spotify.

I would really appreciate a step by step guide if you people can provide one, of how to run Spotify via the head unit of the car.  I have the Amundsen head unit.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Andy (Bowks10)

Hi Andy, I use Spotify over Bluetooth to my mib 2 head unit, but I have tried to connect with the USB port and no success.

Have you tried a search on here?

Welcome on board.

You can only run Spotify through BT on the MIB1 with USB and I would imagine you can only get the sound through the MDI, as the functionality for Spotify is run through the phone. I use Amazon Music and the only way to integrate it is to have Apple CarPlay which is MIB2 only. I have fitted a MIB2 to my car which is a bit of a job just to get Amazon Music functionality but it was worth it to me not to be caught with my phone in my hand.

Hi have a vrs with the same head unit. For the first time this bank holiday I've been streaming Amazon prime music from my Google pixel two it was surprisingly easy  I was running Google maps at the same time which kept interrupting all the time . I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to do it

Hi All,

Thanks for the information.

Can now confirm that I do not need a media cable of any kind. I can play Spotify via Bluetooth straight into the Amundsen head unit.

Voice controls work as well and song and artist info displayed.

I can't request it to via voice control to play a particular group or song though, it only plays the songs or play list selected.

But overall very happy.

Cheers,

Andy
