Nice - join the club there are a few of us MX5 owners on here!

Dont be fooled by these pics  Mike is a photoshop wizz :D:D :D:D :D:D :D:D

JOKE - the car is actually in superb condition for what will be 16 years old very shortly  and to get 37mpg is very good ( must be driving like miss daisy :tongueout:),

I only got around 32, ( mainly because on accelleration i used the full rev range) and enjoyed giving the 2 liter TDi audi drivers a shock.

Hope you are upgrading the speakers as well to go with the H/U,  If the bee sting had been silver would have looked better IMHO to at least keep it close to original.

SO when does it get the turbo and wing ? :)  and the replacement mohair soft top ?

roof down and tonneau cover REALLY shows the car off.

Might be another month or two for speakers, standard ones are pretty good to be fair.

Still have the MX5,

Unfortunately failed the mot this year on Rust. So a plan was made and off it went down to MX5 Mania for some tlc.

new chassis rails and side sills, boot lid and wheel arch repairs, then an engine refresh new radiator and cam belt and full service.

then if to the body shop for a few panels re spray.

Ooooh I do like that gearknob! :)

Nice to see you decided to keep it on the road,  suppose you were expecting some cost as it is nearly 20 .

Yeah, she’s not going anywhere, even thought about an ev conversion a few years down the line, Alloys need to be seen to next and then she will be in tip top condition.

Alloys booked in for next week, and new centre caps sourced and ordered.

  • 2 weeks later...

Alloys done and new centre caps fitted, managed to get some genuine Mazda ones, new old stock for £29 each!

happy with the results

So it looks like our little MX5 will be going up for sale soon, Lovely little car, but my bad back makes it uncomfortable to drive for more than 30 mins at a time. 😞

Sorry to hear you’ve got to let it go. Had an 03 NB and loved it. Might be interested in another, tho can sympathise with the bad back. Let me know when you put it up for sale please.
