Morning all,

 

I need to remove the centre air vents from my Octavia Mk3 vRS and having not done it before i'm looking for some advice.  Essentially I had an air freshener on the top of the dash that had a load of clothes washing beads in it. I haven't used the car for the past few days and when I got in it this morning i found that the beads had melted and spewed out of the air freshener, ran down the front of the dash and entered the vents... I need to remove them so i can get all the bits out and generally clean it all up (on the plus side every time i turn the AC on it smells great!!)  

 

Are they easy to get out and is there anything i should watch out for?

Its quite easy to remove, open the lid and pull the from the inside top, windscreen end and it will pop up a bit.  Then get a plastic trim removal tool under the front of the tray radio end.  Place a credit card or similar on the soft dash to protect it, slide the tool in about 1 inch in either side there are  plastic clips leaver down on the tool and it will pop out.  You may need to be a bit brutal with it but it will pop out.  

I just fitted a USB socket in this tray for charging phones and my tom tom fits in here with the lid up when needed.  If I get time I'll pull it out again and post some pics.
