How long will it take to receive my new Skoda once it has left the factory

Featured Replies

Hi all, quick question for you. My Skoda left the factory around 6th April. When do you think I should expect it to be ready for pickup?

Thanks

Did the dealer give you a estimated date of pickup?

Mine came from Germany within a week.

Yes but very estimated hence the question. Dealer said between the end of this month and end of next. They said it depends on how long it takes to get through customs and to register etc. Was hoping of some real world experiences. So yours was in your hands so to speak after only a week from dispatch following build?

Hi Profcool,

From leaving the factory to arriving at the dealer usually takes from 3-6 weeks.

Most dealers can track the vehicle until it arrives in the UK.

Hope this helps.

Not too sure how they send them presumably by transporter and road.  There is probably a central import site in UK where they will prep them for the dealership and fit all the UK bits and some of the specials you may have ordered.  Always great to have a new car to look forward to!

From leaving the factory my Superb Mk3 has taken 1 weeks to get to Emden dock at Germany, a bout 4 days to Grimsby Dock (uk port), and 2 weeks to get registration/pickup sorted

Some vehicles seem to be getting stuck at Emden and Grimsby though for some reason - I know @penguin17 is having issues with his Sportline 280 being stuck at Grimsby

Yes this is true - I ordered a vehicle for a customer and took nearly 4 weeks to get the vehicle out of Grimsby/Killingholme.

The reason was overcrowding at the ports and fewer transporters.

Road + Rail from Factory ==> Ship over water ==> Road Transporter to Dealer

Mine had been built, had been sitting in Germany I ordered on Saturday, car must have then been in the uk by Tuesday, Wednesday, registered on the Thursday, prepped by my dealer Friday, if it was not for fitting of parking sensors I could have had car on Friday, but had to wait till Monday.

I ordered my 1.5TSI Octavia in June 17 and told them not to rush as I had to a private sale of my GT86.  It was built and ready for collection by early October.
