Skoda extended warranty - Isn't pricing fixed

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,  I recently ordered the Octavia 1.5 TSI DSG, expect to receive the vehicle in 3 weeks from now. After reading about issues with the DQ200 gearbox I felt it would be safest to opt for the Skoda "Extended warranty total five years or 100,000 miles". When I asked the dealer for the price the response was "The extended warranty to total 5 years is £630. This can be added - please confirm". The Skoda pricing PDF on their website however states that it's £515 RRP Inc VAT. If any of you have opted for it what were your experiences? Thanks in advance...

£515 so ask where the person you are sealing with is getting £630 from.

You have to have the Warranty Extended before the car is first registered.

Ask Skoda UK Customer Services to confirm the £515 or not, or ask the Dealer Principal at the dealership to, then they can have a word with their Salesperson.

Folks just an update in case any one else may have the same issue. I wrote back to the salesperson asking them to recheck the price since the Skoda pricing manual mentions £515 and at the same time also wrote to Skoda customer care.  The next day (Saturday 21-April) I got a response from the salesperson that they had made a mistake and it is indeed £515, meanwhile Skoda customer care also reached out to the dealership and confirmed that I'm going to be charged £515.

So this has now been resolved. Offski thanks for your help...!

You are going down the right route as this extended warrenty is offered by Skoda.

If you try to extend the warrenty you've collected the car, the Policy (at least here in switzerland) is a 3rd party one offered by the dealer & is much more expensive than buying direct at the time of purchase.

And has more exclusions. There are lots more things it doesn't cover.
