De2-633 delphi bolero radio backlight gone off!!

Featured Replies

My superb 2011 having delphi bolero radio!! My cars front cig lighter was not working so we removed it but by mistake the fornt panel of radio is took off !!! Then we did the lighter job then refitted the radio but there is no backlight in display and also buttons !!!

Pls suggest what to do??

there is no any damages in the radio all checked well!!!

is there any procedures to get the backlights !!! Now radio is fine i can listen songs , fm , also touch screen and display are working instead of  backlight.

Maybe a stupid question, but how is it possible to knock off the headunit screen (front panel) if you were doing a cigarette lighter fix?

Is there any trick to get back the backlights of display and buttons .

as like reset , format , or any other key combination to do so!!

What you're having is a hardware issue, not a software issue, if the screen came off, then probably just a bad connection on the display's ZIF cable isn't properly connected back ... then again, it's not impossible that the whole screen back-lighting subsystem suffered when knocked off. Another question, while you were doing this cigarette panel repair, was the car's battery disconnected? If it was, then there is no possibility of short-circuiting anything, if it wasn't, maybe you actually fried something on the radio unit (with the back-light not working)

Battery was not disconnected but the ignition and radio was completely off

but inside the radio there is no any mark of short circuit or no any damage to the circuits as well display connector zif cable !!! Is there any ways to hard reset or format the device??

Backlights are working via can??

The Bolero stays live even when the ignition is off. To prove the point, get in the car and press the On button while the key is out of the ignition, and the Bolero will work.

Entirely possible you've blown something as pointed out above, or there's an issue with the connection between the screen and the main unit. Or it may be that you've damaged the wiring to the Climate panel. Are the back lighting functions working on that?

Ya climate control backlights are on !!

i hv checked the radio visually at local electrionc repair shop there is no any damage to ic’s transistors or any other compnent of the system there are no damages in cables of display and all

I tried doing ingnition off the radio is working with no backlights in that!! All func working except backlights

Your best bet is to borrow another unit from someone and see if you then have the lights.

Circuit boards can crack a track which is invisible even with a magnifying glass, usually on a solder joint of a heavier  item, also a sub miniature component can fail with no external sign of stress.

I checked with another unit is working fine on my superb!!!

Find a better specialized multimedia electronics repair shop to repair your unit. You've made a mistake when not disconnecting the car battery, luckily it was just the back-light this time

Yup!!! I think so that as well!!!!

i ll remember forever to disconnect the battery before doing any work !!!

thanks

Hi Sagar.
Did you get your back light on in your Bolero?
I have the same issue, all working but no light.
