Screenwash tank/pipe leaking

Featured Replies

If I fill my 1.9SDI's screenwash tank to the top, it'll always be empty within a day whether I use it or not. There's definitely a leak in there somewhere. I presume this is more likely to be a problem with a join between the tank and a pipe rather than a hole in the tank itself - am I right? The tank seems like it's in a dead awkward place to get to too, is it worth getting fixed on a car worth about £3-400 or will I end up incurring labour costs that are just not worth it?

Cheers

It's probably the grommet holding the pump that's leaking, I'm surprised you haven't noticed a puddle under the car as it leaks out overnight. You have to remove the arch liner to get reasonable access to it.

If you remove these screws at the front of the N/S wheel arch you can have a peek at the pump...
