Brio roof bars anyone?

Featured Replies

Hi all

i notice that Lidl will be selling Brio lockable roof bars on Sunday 6th May.  These are said to ave a capacity of 90kg.

i will need some fir my new Octavia Estate.

as these are much cheaper than OEM bars, I wonder if anyone has any experience of the product.

thanks

John

Never heard of them but forget the 90kg last ad rating and go by what you car manual states.

I have these myself, they do the job, i carried a load of 4.8m lengths of wood to my dad's yesterday, no problem at all

Yea I’ve got them. Had them for 3 years and had them well Loaded and they’ve never come loose once. Good quality and secure. Even with a roof box on the autobahn at considerably more than the uk speed limit

Thanks all.

whats the wind noise like at motorway speeds? they have quite a big profile.

I have them too, had them for a about 3 years. In fact they've been on my car permanently for a the last month, with and without a roof box. Mine whistle from about 20 mph upwards, and they they're quiet from about 65+ generally.

Not too noisy though, and the stereo drowns them out anyway.

As you probably know the Octavia is rated at 75kg roof load so they're within the guidelines for loading.

The Skoda bars on my Yeti are not quiet but with the roof box on, I tend not to cruise at much more than 60/65.  I find that this is the point where the mpg starts to deteriorate.

A question to those who have them, will these bars take "T-Track" fittings or will I need to ft my box using u-bolts?

Hi John.

Mom pretty sure they will take t-track. I only use the u bolts and the Thule twist lock fasteners

great price! unfortunately they are not available in my area, we have some dumb BBQ instead :/

Guys I need some roof bars for my VRS but its a a non-hatch. Need it to carry a MTB bike!

Suggestions?

Cheers!
