Three down....

Featured Replies

3rd and last service today, of the three that I bought with the vRS.

I asked for the brakes to be looked at as I'd noticed a bit of noise under heavy braking at high speed.  They asked me to demonstrate it to a technician.  So out we want for a jolly and it turned out the technician had a Mk1 Golf cabby and a CR170 Octy   After a couple of runs, we agreed that feedback through the steering wasn't indicating warped fronts, but the handbrake indicated it was the rear, despite sound seeming decidedly frontward.  We could see pitting, mostly on the OSR disc.

When in vRS mode, the technician heard the sound activator resonating something in the dash.  When we were looking at the rear disks, we noted the corroded centre caps.

Left the car at Skoda and rode home on my Brompton.  Got a call from Skoda to say that with the wheels off they'd found a nail in the OSR, but it was repairable.  I'd had a screw taken out of the NSR (and a repair) just last week :wondering:

As I rode back this afternoon, I got distracted watching a swan on a waterway next to the cycle path I was on.  Looked up after having taken a photo of said swan, to see my vRS going by on a road test.  Cheery wave from the same technician who came out with me this morning.

So I've now had a service, new rear pads and discs, four new centre caps, a puncture repair and my sound activator turned down to 30%.  And they didn't wash it.  Bliss, absolute bliss

Thank goodness for a big splat of bird poo on my windscreen to bring me back down to earth.  Otherwise it could have been a near perfect day with me and the yella' peril.

You didn't say how many miles the Mellow Yellow splat attracter has done to date, just curious.

Just shy of 19k miles and two and a half years old.

I really enjoyed washing it yesterday. Birds were at least kind enough to poo on it before I dried it :dull:
