Needed a Family car ... So got a VRS

Featured Replies

So to date i have been pottering arround in an old land rover without a care in the world.

feeling like i am shifting a continantal plate every time i shift gear, rain or shine. snow or feild.

but alas life catches us all and now a baby is on the way. so got set a mission,

you can have what ever car you want, so long as it is more efficent than what we have, is an estate and has isofix for less than 2k/

well, i looks and i hunted and found a few options and after a test drive of a 320d and the skoda Octavia VRS, the skoda won out.

strangely the thing that sold it for the other half was door angle. in a tight space it was impossible for her to get out due to the curve in the door.

so the fast skoda won.

i have to say i am enjoying it and all the toys that the land rovers never got, including AC, i got AC! oh wait.... the ac rad has a hole in it... mmm

Hello Little_Grey and family welcome to the Skoda forum:hi: , A/C is one of those things  you should always check but i done the same thing myself  on another mark but lucky for me it was still under warranty .

A warm welcome Little_Grey!  Yep - I've had fun with Landies in my time but they don't seem quite the same now.

yea, i should have known better, but i am not too worried. i would have sworn it was working or maybe just other AC i am used to is naff. still i am not worried, i am mechanically minded so should be able to fix it.

as a tempary fix its got a blob of chemical metal in it. which hopefully will be enough atleast for now.

i have been feeling the same, the old girl feels very old now. but i am fortunate enough still to have it as a hobby car.

she needs some attension here and there so i now have less stress needing it ready for the following day to get to work.

plus doing 4x4 responders, ferrying arround nurses and carers and alike in the snow. nothings going to beat the landy for that.

(plus the yeti was out of budget)

Snap! ;)
