Today I removed, cleaned and refitted the ASV, EGR and inlet manifold on our 2008 Fabia 1.4tdi BNM and noticed that there was no gasket between the EGR body and the EGR pipe underneath. There was a metal  gasket at the other end where it attached to the engine.

Just wanted to check whether anyone could confirm whether or not there should have been a gasket between the pipe and the EGR.

It did strike me as an odd setup not having a gasket, but at the moment it does seem to run ok without one. However, I cant see it lasting long term so I'll pick up a gasket this week.
