Civic Type R Ariel

Featured Replies

I have saw a vRS this morning with what appeared to be a CTR ariel, didnt get a full glimpse of it but am sure it was, as the car following was a CTR and it looked the same :D

Is this a costly mod or is it a quite straight forward?

Are there any other ariels which are similar to the CTR one which fit without "much" modification needed and still give good reception

Thanks, Chris.

How is the removalble part of the vRS arial attached?? is the treaded 'stud' in the ariel or is it in the base on the roof??

I believe the stud is on the ariel (but on the Octavia you cant unscrew it all the way.)

On the CTR the stud is on the ariel too, looks like maybe a 4 or 6 mill thread. So it could be a striaght swap. Although you might have to 'blend' the bottom the the CTR ariel into the vRS base unit. IIRC the removable part of the CTR ariel is about

I have one on my Vrs. It can be any civic (the same Mk as the type R)

Is is a straight swap, just have to push down hard when screwing in it so it catches the threads then it goes on fine.

Reception is fine not MW though, saying that i dont have a booster for my aftermarket head unit.

It was pretty hard finding the post I wanted. Tried so many different spellings I must have got confused how to spell it correctly - :o

Yeah, I felt all smart when I checked your post and proclaimed you the winner. Moral of the story for me: double-check before posting smart-*** remarks.
