Dont suppose anyone will be around IP Thursday afternoon?.

Does that only apply to the turbo or can an ordinary 2.0FSI be tweaked a bit?

I'm pretty sure you can, if you are serious about it then I am sure there are many peolple on here that can give you advice, anyone?.

The gains from a normally aspirated engine will be pretty negligable from a remap alone.

You can also check out http://www.bsrab.se , a Swedish tuning company with good reputation here in Sweden. You get at small computer (PPC) sent to your home, and you plug it into the cars diagnostic system and it upgrades your ECU. You can also update the PPC from the internet, so you always have the latest software. The tuning can just as easily be removed, if you want to return to original settings.

They also have a nice movie on their website (in swedish and english), showing how it works.

Yup it is, no longer a vacuum valve the DV and N249 are one duty cycled solenoid unit. N75 is also fitted directly to the turbo.

Found an 'atmospheric blow off valve' from Forge, is it worth fitting this and if so what are the benefits of doing so?.

Steve,

Have a word with Mike on Thursday about DV's etc when you get the map done, he will put you right as to which one to go for.

Going to be there from about 1:30pm onwards, don't know how long it'll take to do but going straight from here to LB meet so will need to be away by 4:30pm.

You wont be able to go for any DV's on the Octavia 2 vRS, as mentioned the DV is part of the turbo.

I don't doubt your technical experience, but why is this showing that you can on the VW Golf GTI which is the same lump that's in the vRS?.

There is even a 'how to' shown here!.

Not liking the look of that, LUMMOX is right the DUMP VALVE is part of the whole assembly -- that forge kit looks like a bit of a heath robinson way of fiddling with the electronics in a bypass kind of way -- the statements about how it might not work all the time and how it may feel different - due to the electronics make me think it would have limited effect

I have been strongly advised not to bother by a reputable tuner, as it is for noise only, and the effects of fitting it are as yet unproven.

Yes exactly - fair one if your car is out of warranty and you just want that woosh

but for those that might be trying to have a more subtle improvement I think they best steer clear -- would be a dead giveaway

And I'm not trying to beat forge up for this - there must be a market or they wouldnt spend the time and effort doing it -- they also have an adjustable one !!

And I'm sure they will be upto the usual excellent quality that forge produce, it's just as has been said already - what are the long term effects going to be ?????
