Will this fit my L & K

Featured Replies

I have the foot operated automatic boot opening sensor.

Can anyone please tell me :-  A) Is this rear spoiler easy to fit and would it interfere with the automatic boot opening sensor

Thank you in anticipation for your advice.

Hi @Who,

It would not probably work with virtual pedal as it covers the location where virtual pedal sensor is (if I understand correctly where it goes). The virtual padal migh even work but as there is extra material between sensor and you foot, then it probably would not work so well anymore.

And I see from your description that you have 280hp engine. Superskoda states rather clearly that this item is not suitable for 280hp Superb.

EDIT: And even if you didn't have 280hp engine, it would not work because you have L&K not Sportsline. Sportsline rear diffusor is different than regular Superb has.

I retrofitted my L&K with Sportsline diffusor and I'm really happy with it:)

Hi  alf.onso

Many thanks for your advice.  I must have missed the  " ...not suitable for 280 ..."

The actual advertisment says suitable for all Superb 111 models :-

I retrofitted the Sportline diffusor on mine too - love it.

Thanks everyone for your input , however many seem to be talking about a completely different thing.

The Sportline diffuser is not the one I was looking.  The attached photo may help to explain exactly what the Superskoda one is similar to. The explanation from an internet site about downforce etc is as follows:-

What is the purpose of a rear diffuser?

The primary purpose of a rear diffuser is to efficiently increase the downforce of a vehicle. This helps increase grip and reduce aerodynamic drag.

How does a rear diffuser work?

As a vehicle is driven down the road, high-speed air is passing underneath the vehicle at low pressure. As the air passes to the rear of the vehicle through the diffuser, the air expands through an expansion chamber. Through this expansion, air speed is reduced and pressure is increased (through what is called the Venturi effect). This pressure differential between the low-pressure air under the car and the high pressure at the rear creates a vacuum sucking air out from under the car. With high-pressure air above the car and low pressure under the car, high downforce is created while reducing aerodynamic drag

And this works as part of an entire undercarriage structure, or a simple bolt-on at the back?

If you want the "look", that's fine, but I don't think the bolt-on is going to get you around Daytona.

Hahaha.   A Skoda dominating the field at Daytona.  I assume you meant in the USA and not the Daytona Kart Track in Manchester. Now that would be something.

Seriously though it would help aerodynamics but not by much. For serious effects and higher speeds then Canards for the front as well as a full length underbody shield would also be of benefit it could also help airflow and reduce drag as per the image below.

I must admit I do like the look of them but its only a consideration at this stage.

For the serious minded then :-

Thats the theory but still not sure if it will stop my boot sensor from working.

Ur not gonna get any aerodynamic effect from sticking on that DTM diffusor to the bottom of ur rear bumper.  The diffusor channels need to start from underneath the car to have an effect.

These bolt on ones most certainly don't.

You want looks - fill ur boots.

But as its pointed out already - it's not suitable for the 206 (280).

As for interference with the virtual kick to open boot operation - u may, or may not affect its ability to detect a foot movement.

The Sportline Diffusor, also from SuperSkoda is what Skoda refers to the bottom black part of the rear bumper.

It's not a "proper or real" diffusor, like the explanation u provided.

It does not provide any aerodynamic characteristics for the Superb.

The sensor is a rubber coated strip about 1M long that is stuck on with adhesive tape, so if this add on diffuser impeded it from working you may be able to sandwich it between the OE diffuser and this one?

if u put ur xray vision glasses on and look from underneath, the sensors @Gizmo described above r positioned as follows...…

Many thanks JR RS  and Gizmo

A great photo like this is worth a thousand words.

Will have to have a think now. May have to abandon the idea.

Anyone knows if this rear diffuser with chrome accents can also fit skoda octavia A7 ?

I also see some similar ads on aliexpress mentioning skoda octavia A7 diffuser, but not sure if they are accurate fit or not. I dont see anywhere else such diffusers for Octavia including superskoda so more worried if aliexpress ones are right fit, or just superb only.

It will most definitely NOT fit the Octavia.

Different bumper design.

Different bumper widths.

The rear parking sensors r integrated in the diffusor for the Superb.

Hi @JR RS, I'm about to do the same thing, replace the standard difusor with the sportline one.

I did not go for Sportline version and could not just add the sportline bumper as an extra to the setup I ordered so I figured I'll take care of it once I collect the car. I'm about to pickup my brand new Superb 3 next week and the package from Superskoda already arrived. :D

It seems quite a straightforward job, but if you can share your experience or something worth taking into consideration, I'd be thankful.

Thanks!
