Hi all

Does anyone have any advice on how best to fix this issue?

I have had the 2012 and 2018 faults for a while now despite having it rectified last summer. Suddenly it reappeared with the usual issues which I have tead about on this forum such as not shutting down properly and the engine management light always on.

The connector seems sealed and i cannot see how to take it apart to solder the wires together. Is this connector easy to purchase, as I could cut it off and put a new one on?

Is this a common fault? I wonder if ficing this would sort out the two fault codes i have?

Welcome any advice and input.

Regards

Paul

The purple retainer slides out of the slot in the side, then use a pin extractor from the mating face to remove each pin?

Failing that, there'll be a VW group part number on the connector;  I think you can see where it is on the last photo but I can't read it.  Put that number into ebay and see what pops up.   You'll probably find kits of bits with housing, pins and rubber seals, but also if you're lucky, housings with socket inserts prefitted, already crimped onto wire tails that you could just solder onto after cutting off the original connector.

i did wonder if it would slide out but was wary of damaging it.

Will get a better image of the part number and look it up as suggested. I dont think I can repair what is currently there.

Many thanks.
