Extended warranty

Featured Replies

Waiting for my Karoq to be ready in September and at the same time wondering  about the 2 year extended warranty. Anyone knows if they're worth it and whether it has to be bought at the beginning or can it be bought 3 years down the line when the included warranty ends?

Extending the warranty to 5 years means you get a 5 year warranty from the factory. Extending after 3 years and getting a Skoda approved warranty is a 3rd part warranty approved by Skoda and doesn't cover certain Items unless you pay more money. The 5 year Extended warranty needs to be added before the car is registered ( I think )

Have a read.........

I enquired with the salesman when placing my order and he stated I could extend at anytime as long as the car is still under the 3 year standard warranty.

Yes you can extend your warranty, but it’s not he same warranty you would have got if you’d purchased at order.

Obviously something he omitted in that conversation! If I'd have known I would have paid for the extension on the order as I do plan on keeping the car at least 5 years.

I'll have to check if I'm too late then if I didn't specify it as an option at ordering but the car isn't yet manufactured.

I've just emailed my salesman. I'll let you all know what he says.

I am almost certain Auric is right.  He usually is ;)

Your car won't have been registered yet, so still time to get the extended warranty.

Also be aware Skoda's standard 3 year warranty includes Roadside Assistance for the duration.  However, Skoda's extended warranties do not include Roadside Assistance during years 4 and 5.

^^^^ As above,

Get the Warranty extended before First Registered.

OT,

Any car built by Skoda now or by September that does not have WLTP will not be getting First Registered in September or late, they will need to be first Registered in July or August or not in the UK or EU.

Get it. It will be worth it if nothing more then the peace of mind. If they say you missed the deadline, threaten to cancel the order. Bit of bluff won't hurt! If they won't sway, keep the money until the three years are ending, then buy the extension. Better to have the pennies in YOUR jar, than theirs!

I think these cars are gonna be on Briskoda quite a bit, in the future...

Thanks everyone. Just got a reply from the salesman. The warranty needs to be bought before handover as after that they offer a different warranty. So I'm going to go for it considering the Karoq hasn't been around for long.

Welcome to the joys of Briskoda :)

And soon, @Auric Goldfinger will be along to remind us of the number of Skodas he has owned in goodness-knows-how-many-years.  It's impressive!
