EGR valve disconnected

Featured Replies

Hi, I cleaned my EGR valve and inlet manifold yesterday, Not a lot of gunge in the valve but a fair bit in the manifold so got that properly cleaned. Anyway put it all back together and disconnected the vacuum pipe on the EGR valve and plugged it (poor mans EGR delete  ). Car feels better now there's no filth air going into the intake, But after about 10 miles the engine warning light came on which i was expecting because the EGR is disconnected.  I know it has to be coded out but can i do it with VCDS? If so, How?    Thanks..

Anyone?

I'm not sure it can be removed with VCDS, you'll probably need someone to flash a 'stage 0' map to fix the error code.

Thanks for the reply, Wasn't sure if it was possible with VCDS.

No dont think you can disable the light without a remap to do this. I never found an option in VCDS.

You could try the SEAT EGR gasket mod which I did with good results. It's a gasket with a much smaller hole, but enough air passes to prevent the EML coming on.

Search for the SEAT EGR gasket on here.
