Koni Part Numbers

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm looking at a Koni dampers/Eiback spring combo, but just need some info on the Dampers.

Am I looking at the 'Koni Sport' dampers? or the 'Sport Short' dampers? The Eibachs only lower 25mm, so I don't think I need the Shorts, but I can't quite follow the crazy technical stuffs about "The rebound figure for the damper needs to be at least 10mm greater than the difference between the lowered spring length and the original spring length in situ"

If anyone has some part numbers, that'd be great. I've had a search and can't find any on here.

Thanks again,

I usually find www.motorsportworld.co.uk good for finding out stuff like this BUT they don't list the vRS on there amongst the Koni stuff.

Try www.koni.com I think there are pdf files on there of all the fitments

Failing that give JBS a ring, they know their onions.

BTW don't go for the short dampers. I had Konis on my Golf and can recommend them. The normal length sport dampers are fine. Although personally if I was buying them again I couldn't be arsed with the adjustable damping and would go for the cheaper Koni Reds if they were available.

I had Ibiza Sport Konis on my Fabia with the Eibach springs.

Shorts are well worth it as long as you carry out the bump stop mod and trim them down to stop the bumpstop limiting the travel of the dampers.

rsbspt thread is well worth a read, we did a fair bit of chopping and changing on his suspension to get the right set up.

Thanks to both of you. I've checked motorsportworld, they seem the cheapest place I've found so far too. The Fabia and Ibiza part no's are the same on there I think.

So I can't do much harm with the shorts? I mean with only a 25mm drop they can't be too short can they?

I'd drop rsbspt an email and get his take on it.

Cheers, I'll try and get hold of him...
